Wellness Course for Jewelers
I don’t know about the art program(s) that you attended, but in the ones I went through we didn’t really talk about health and wellness in the studio. I get it, we’re in art school to study art, not physical therapy. But our studio practices influence the longevity of our hands and bodies, which ultimately affects our careers. So, I believe that encouraging education about these topics should be a priority.
Speaking from personal experience, I can say with confidence that it’s not easy to unlearn the patterns and habits that our bodies have adapted to. The good news is that your body is capable of developing new patterns that are more sustainable. Your body is worth the effort!
As an educator, I feel a strong sense of responsibility to create a new understanding surrounding the relationships between our bodies and our studio practices. I want to teach you how to stand well, how to create more healthy movements, and how to strengthen your hands and body.
Your alignment in the studio matters! So many of the metals artists I work with complain of neck strain and low back pain. Can you relate?! This doesn’t come as a surprise because most jewelers aren’t taught how to sit or stand well at the bench. Did you know that your movements can actually retrain your body to create strength in areas that might be lacking? You deserve to know more. That’s why I created this wellness course specifically for jewelers called “Precious Movements”.GET THE COURSE: $59

Let's face it, the act of working at the bench can be so heavy on the body, but it doesn’t have to be that way. If you learn how to move well, all of that work can strengthen you in the long term. What Makers Are Saying
“As a jeweler who has recently been sidelined by a repetitive motion injury, learning about the proper ergonomics of my practice has become a major priority for me. I downloaded the “Precious Movements” webinar as a way to arm myself with knowledge for my eventual return to my bench. Missy’s delivery is clear and concise- I was able to listen to the audio while driving (and actually absorb it) and then return to the video at a later date to review the information again, with visuals. I know that what I’ve learned from “Precious Movements” will be a huge part of how I structure my work environment and take care of my body going forward, in my career as a jeweler. Thanks, Missy!” - Francine G.GET THE COURSE
