This workshop will explore safe, fun, and accessible stretching, strengthening, and massage techniques that can be used to develop and maintain your body’s natural elasticity. Elasticity is the ability of our soft tissues to resume their original shapes after being stretched, compressed, or massaged. Elasticity supports mobility by allowing you to safely exercise your body’s range of motion.
Missy will facilitate a conversation about the pains and strains the attendees are experiencing in connection with their daily work routines. Missy will demonstrate stretching, strengthening, and massage techniques that attendees can incorporate into their daily work routines to help alleviate common strains associated with working at a desk. This workshop will include a mix of background information, such as how knots develop in the body, and practical instruction, such as different ways to increase blood flow, circulation, and flexibility. These techniques are designed to help attendees boost their energy levels, alleviate pain, reduce the risk of injury, and improve their posture and mobility. Attendees will leave the workshop with a deeper understanding of the body, a tool kit including a massage ball and an acu-pressure ring, and a digital reference guide to refer to in the future.
