How do you feel when you are working in the studio? Tired? Sore?
Have your hands ever cramped up in the middle of working on a peice? Has you back ever gone out when lifting heavy objects? Have you ever felt pain in your elbow or thumbs as a result of the repetitive tasks you do in order to create? I have felt all of these and more in my personal practice. Let’s be honest, it’s not a great feeling!
I remember feeling tension in my elbow and being concerned that I was developing a repetitive strain injury. If I were to lose a lot of mobility in my hands and forearms, I would no longer be able to make my work. Fortunately, I noticed the issue early, acknowledged that the actions I was taking were not sustainable, and committed to making some very important changes. I now feel stronger and know that I am creating longevity in my body and practice.
I believe that you also deserve to feel great in your body, whether you spend hours working at a computer, hammering in your studio, throwing at the wheel, knitting, painting, or writing. Developing a conscious studio practice will give you the leverage you need to pursue your creative vision on every level.
I want to teach you how to build a resilient studio practice from the ground up. I want to be your accountability partner. I want to encourage you each week to keep going. I want to cheer you on and help you feel great about your studio practice. Are you ready to feel great in your body?
I am so excited to share that I am launching a new 6 week course: From the Ground Up. Each week we will focus on a different area of the body, starting with the feet and ankles! You will receive a video filled with techniques, a PDF outlining the exercises and strategies in the video, and the opportunity to ask me questions along the way!
The videos will be pre-recorded to allow you to watch them at any time; however, because I love the community aspect and think it is important to work together, I will also be hosting a live Q&A the final week of the training. Additionally, you can ask me anything in our private facebook group! I’ll be checking in with this group M-F, so you can just tag me and ask me questions. This will help you build new and inspiring connections and relationships, as well as gain more from the experience.
By the end of the course, you will have a complete toolkit and a more well-developed understanding of your body that will leave you feeling empowered and inspired to keep creating. You will gain a deeper understanding of what’s happening in the body when our posture fails us, when our backs give out, when we develop knots, or experience tension in the wrists and forearms.
You will walk away with the skills you need to build strength and mobility in the studio through safe movements, corrective exercises, strengthening techniques, massage techniques, stretches, and posture check-ins. Included in this course, you will recieve your own Complete Wellness Kit containing my favorite self-care tools that have helped me in my studio practice.
