It’s still winter and dang it’s cold! If you’re like me, it can be hard to leave the house on days like these. Winter can be tough on the body because of the low temperatures and lack of daylight. Also, many of us don’t get enough exercise in the colder months, so our bodies ache and desire movement. Even though it’s cozy to lay in bed and work on your laptop or watch an episode on netflix, remember that it is even more important to keep the body warm and moving in the winter months. Here are a few things to try.
Go for a walk
Bundle up, pop in your headphones, put on your favorite podcast and go for a walk. Walking is a great form of exercise because it increases blood flow and circulation. Walking also creates an opportunity to breathe in the natural air around you, which can help your body to reset. Getting outside to walk for an extra ten minutes a day can help you feel more productive, clear your mind, and help you feel inspired to work on bigger tasks when you get back inside.
Go on an excursion!
An excursion is a great way to break up your normal routine and get excited about being outside. Try a winter activity like skiing, snowboarding, or snowshoeing. If you love hiking, chances are you’ll love snowshoeing. Snowshoeing allows you to hike in deep amounts of snow without an issue. It’s safe, easy for beginners, and will get you sweating in no time. It’s empowering!

I love using Airbnb to find really unique places to stay that aren’t too far away. Each space is priced differently, so you are bound to find something within your budget. Many are even pet friendly!
